I joined BP Shipping Ltd in 1984. While training in various core businesses within the shipping company.
Moving back to London with BP Shipping, I became a CPP Tanker Operator and then an LPG Charterer for the in house trading team. I gained an extensive shore side while placed in BP's Refineries and terminal sites.
Another move into Chemical parcel chartering , I benefited from onsite learning about the upstream business of oil refining and its products. Assistant Chartering Manager in Chemical Shipping led to a more in depth knowledge of the chemical market.
In 1998, I joined James Fisher Tankships as Chartering Manager for their fleet of 25 coaster CPP product tankers.
I have very close links with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers as a tutor for correspondence students; Lecturer for the London School of Shipping and a member of the board of Examiners. I received my Fellowship in 1998.
I have freelanced with Drewry Ship Consultants as an Analyst, and Research Consultant on various publications including Multipurpose / Reefers and Dry cargo.
In 2009, joining Sea Sea Shipping as a Commercial Manager Consultant using my Tanker knowledge as both a Charterer / Owner.
I became a Supporting Arbitrator in 2020 for LMAA (London Maritime Arbitration Association)
